President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to participate in the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
Landing at Zayed International Airport early Sunday morning, he was warmly received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UAE’s special representative for Africa.

This visit presents an opportunity for Nigeria to strengthen its ties with the UAE and showcase its commitment to sustainable development and socioeconomic progress.

Shortly after arrival, President Tinubu met with Mr. Femi Otedola, Chairman of FBNHoldings PLC, in Abu Dhabi.

According to Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight Nigeria’s progress under his administration, focusing on energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development reforms. He will also engage with UAE leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest and explore areas of collaboration that could benefit both nations.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, running from January 12 to 18, brings together global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and create actionable solutions for socioeconomic progress.
